Factors affecting the production efficiency of sand mills

Grinding medium (zirconia beads), material, rotor structure, cooling water, flow rate of the material to be ground and equipment speed.

1. Grinding media-(95 zirconium, 80 zirconium, 65 zirconium, cerium stabilized zirconia beads)

Media specific gravity: The greater the specific gravity of the grinding media, the increase in energy, impact and shear forces, and the improvement of grinding efficiency and better results.

Medium diameter: The medium diameter is large, and the dispersing and grinding force is stronger. For materials requiring fineness, multiple sand mills can be used in series.

Media filling rate: The greater the filling rate, the greater the frequency of media contact, and the greater the dispersion and grinding force.

Medium density and hardness: low-density grinding beads are suitable for low-viscosity slurry, and high-density grinding beads are suitable for high-viscosity slurry. The higher the hardness of the grinding beads, the lower the wear rate of the beads theoretically. (According to the actual production, the filling amount of the beads, the viscosity of the slurry, the flow rate, etc. can be adjusted according to the specific wear).

Media size: The size of the grinding beads determines the frequency of the contact points between the grinding beads and the material. The more the contact points of the beads with a smaller particle size are in the same volume, the higher the grinding efficiency theoretically (the actual production depends on the specific material) .

2. Material-wear resistance, hardness

The harder things, the higher the rebound height, the greater the reverse energy of the zirconium beads, and the greater the grinding efficiency

3. Rotor structure-grinding dead corners

Replace with thickened disc hole type to increase the bead setting ability of the grinding disc and improve the grinding efficiency

Four, cooling water-control water temperature

The temperature of the cooling water affects the working temperature of the grinding cavity, thereby affecting the grinding efficiency

Under the same other conditions, the grinding efficiency of 15°C chilled water is 30% higher than that of 22°C circulating water.

Solutions for controlling water temperature:

1. Insufficient cold water supply or insufficient temperature, add a chiller to the grinding equipment

2. The cold water is sufficient. If the temperature of the material is required, a cooling plate should be added to the material tank (data feedback shows that it can be reduced by 7°-8°)

5. The flow rate of the material to be ground and the speed of the equipment

The flow rate is high, the product size is coarse, the pressure and temperature in the grinding chamber are too high; the flow rate is slow, the grinding efficiency is low

The high speed of the main shaft increases the shearing force and friction force; the higher the linear speed of the rotor, the shorter the grinding time
